Indian Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge
The Society, formerly a branch of S.P.C.K., London has been serving the Church in India since 1710, was registered in India as an autonomus self-governing body in 1958. In 1970, the 1958 Constitution was amended. Now the affairs of the Society are governed by an ecumenically constituted General Body, meeting triennially and electing the Governing Body.
Profile : Over time the Indian SPCK has become a major contributor to the Indian Church with the wherewithal to serve as a value based Corporate Christian Communication agency in the region, with a Prophetic and Proactive agenda. The Society works in close co-operation with other Christian communication agencies.
Potential :The ISPCK currently represents a pool of high calibre human resources, totally committed to the cause of Christian Communication with a compelling vision and a commitment beyond the market.
Competence :ISPCKs strategic thrust is founded on its ability to continuously invest in existing and new capabilities constantly exploring opportunities for growth and partnerships by multiple core competencies, synergising and blending its priorities to change with time, situation and context.
Distinctiveness :ISPCKs distinctiveness and core competence lies in encouraging indigenous talent in publishing and music.
Engagement : The Society engages in equipping, churches, communities and people through its inclusive training programmes.
Vision : Creating centres of excellence in Christian communication to impact communities in our context.
