Globalization has deeply affected society. Contrary to the claims of planners and policy makers, farmers in India are being pushed into a global system that is detrimental to their interests. This book takes a look at the development paradigm that has been uncritically adopted in India. Borrowing insights from the great ecological activist, Vandana Shiva, and the economist, Shumacher, the author argues for a new paradigm-a paradigm that is farmer friendly and, ipso facto, earth friendly.
