Religion for a New Society

Overview

Fr. S. Arulsamy shows in his book how different religious traditions he has explored can contribute to human and social development and thus pave the way for a new society. In a multi-religious society like India, the role that religions can play in human and social development can be both ambiguous and crucial. On the one hand, religions can be politicized and turn communalistic. On the other hand, religions are called to collaborate in providing a common moral foundation to social and political life. They do so in dialogue with each other and with social reality.
