History and theology cannot be separated since history provides the context to develop theology and theology gives meaning to history. We come to know this inter-link from the study of the Bible.
The biblical narratives do not present history merely as a political history or like any secular history book. They present the way God of the Bible acts in the history of people and so history and theology are integrated.
Kings do not function in isolation from the community. They are part of the society and have a responsibility to lead the community to follow God and practice the divine law.
This commentary challenges us to understand the need of healthy interactions between religion (Priests and Prophets) and politics (Kings) as well as is offering valuable insights on leadership, governance, justice, worship, miracles and empowering those in need.
