This book explores the importance of the Church as the sacrament of salvation in the multi-religious context on Tamilnadu, India. It is the composition of the sacramental ecclesiology. "God comes to men only through men," as Cardinal Ratzinger once said, speaks in short the role of the Church. However, because the Church is more than just a group of 'the People' who came together on their own initiative and volition, it continues to be Christ's sole means of salvation, even in the face of the failures and sins of both religious and laypeople. Since the Church is the dispenser of the grace to the faithful, the world cannot lose the Church. If the world were to lose the Church, it would lose the redemption too. The Church as the universal sacrament of salvation depends on Christ who wills everyone to be saved.
