Overview

Pope Francis cautioned against theology becoming a reliquary or museum of tired ideas and doctrines. Instead, theology should be fundamentally contextual and engaged with realities of faith in ordinary living. This collection of essays presents theology as a living enterprise flourishing on Indian soil and the monumental contribution of Indian Jesuits not only to past scholarship but also to present innovations and future horizons. True to the Jesuit ideal, the authors are not content with the tried and exhausted but strive to break open new pathways of innovation in Jesuit-inspired Indian theological scholarship for the subcontinent and for the global church.
